New Delhi, August 6,2012:NIIT Limited, leading Global Talent Development Corporation and Asia’slargest IT trainer, todaylaunched ‘The Turning Point Scholarship 2012’for the new GNIIT programme and Express Diploma programmes. The Turning Point Scholarships have been introduced with an aim to recognize and reward meritorious students with scholarships to help them achieve their dream career options in IT industry.
The NIIT Turning Point Scholarship application forms are available at NIIT education centers across the country. Scholarship applications will be accepted from 1st to 31stAugust 2012. Students can also log on to www.niit.com/scholarships or call 1800 102 6448 for more details.
Over last 21 years, more than 4.8 lakh students have benefited from NIIT’s Scholarship Programmes. The NIIT Turning Point Scholarship is one such initiative towards enhancing employability of meritorious students and making them job ready to meet the industry needs. The scholarship is aimed at facilitating meritorious college students and fresh graduates who want to prepare themselves for a successful IT career by enrolling for new GNIIT and Express Diploma programmes.
Speaking on this significant development Mr. Amitabh Lahiri, Chief Business Officer, Career Building Solutions, NIIT said,“NIIT has always believed in making cutting-edge professional courses available to meritorious students. The Turning Point Scholarship is yet another effort to recognize and encourage students to pursue a career in IT and IT related domains.”
Students who have successfully completed class XII or equivalent, those currently pursuing graduation and /or completed graduation in any stream or engineering students are eligible for the NIIT Turning Point Scholarship programme. The candidates need to fill the application form on the website or at NIIT center and submit a copy of their attested Class XII mark-sheet at the NIIT center. Eligible applicants on meeting the qualifying criteria of the recommended NIIT programme will be awarded the scholarship based on the qualifying scholarship slab.
Students who scored 95 or more than 95 percent in class XII are eligible for 50 percent scholarship for the new GNIIT programme. Furthermore, students who have scored between 80 to 95 percent, 70 to 80 percent and 50 to 70 percent are eligible for 35, 25 and 20 percent scholarship respectively for the new GNIIT programme. Students who have scored more than or equivalent to 80 percent marks in the class XII are eligible for 20 per cent scholarship in Express Diploma programme while students who have scored between 50 percent to 80 percent are eligible for 10 percent scholarship.
NIIT has also partnered with Credila Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of HDFC Ltd. to offer education loans to students interested in enrolling for the programs. The interested students can enroll for NIIT Programs using Credila’s easy repayment options which are exclusive for NIIT students.
The new GNIIT programme prepares college students for a successful entry into the professional IT world by making them job-ready, the day they graduate. Students get the benefit of a dual qualification and industry internship with the Professional PracticeTMmodule. The programme maximizes career opportunities by preparing students for multiple exit profiles in diverse fields of IT.
Furthermore, NIIT Express Diploma programmes are accelerated, placement backed, technology specialization programmes that help fresh graduates and students of final year of graduation take their first step towards an IT career. Express Diploma programmes are offered in Java, .NET, Software testing and SQA using IBM Rational, Web designing using LAMP technologies, Computer applications, Core programming, Hardware networking, Finance and Accounting and Financial Accounting using Tally ERP9.
